First up is the removal of three-peeking. Three-peeking is a unique cheese tactic in Destiny 2 that utilizes swords and emotes. With Destiny being a first-person game, three-peeking provides players with a lot of additional intel about where their enemies are. Bungie will also disable emotes in the competitive playlist and in Trials of Osiris. Players will still be able to use swords in these modes, but only when they have ammo, which is very rare.

Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris is back again after yet another matchmaking fix | GamesRadar+
The big Destiny 2 news this week was the launch of Season of Arrivals and the reveal of the next expansion, Beyond Light. And the insta-kill grenade launcher , I suppose. But big things are happening in the Crucible, too. Bungie announced today that it's removed skill-based matchmaking from all of the game's PvP playlists except Elimination, Survival, and Survival: Freelance. Bungie said the change was made in response to community feedback, and should shorten queue times, improve connection quality in matches, and will also "play into the strengths of Crucible being a bombastic, frenetic action game," where the priority is having fun rather than winning at all costs.

About two weeks ago, The Messenger came up as a reward for Trials of Osiris. A highly sought-after Pulse Rifle, The Messenger could roll with the unique Desperado perk, increasing its rate of fire compared to other Pulse Rifles. Getting that perk was all a matter of luck, of course. Still, many Guardians who would otherwise never have engaged in the pinnacle PvP game mode tried their hand at rolling a Messenger just for the chance of getting one with Desperado.
Guardians have been known to do strange things to get the loot they're looking for. Destiny had its infamous Loot Cave where people would farm drops in a certain location on Earth for high tier loot, which has since been immortalized as a recurring easter egg. Destiny 2 had its Umbral Engram exploits with the Black Armory and Forges, as well as one-shotting bosses with Stasis super attacks.
